Soya Keropok, before and after: Kaung Diang is famous for its soya products. We were welcomed into a compound where the family was making a soya snack. One guy was roasting the soyabeans with sand, which would later be crushed and made into a paste. A lady would then squeeze the paste into rings and deep fry them. The constant burning of wood makes the workplace very smoky. Terrible for their lungs. The people here kindly gave us a soya keropok to sample. Fortunately, they tasted nothing at all like the satanic biscuits.
